Science Tuition
As with English and Maths, Science is a core subject of the curriculum and for good reason. Science helps us to make sense of the world around us. Our Science tutors will work with your child to help them to explore their environment in an exciting way while equipping them with the skills and knowledge that they will need to tackle exams at the end of their school career.
KS2 tutors
Many children know from an early age that they want to be a doctor, a vet, an explorer, an inventor. A solid foundation in Science will help them to achieve their goals. Our KS1 tutors and KS2 tutors will work with your child to extend the knowledge that they acquire at school.
Our free consultation will inform your tutor of your child’s preferred learning style and they will build an exciting scheme of learning to help your child to explore concepts.
KS1 and KS2 focus on children’s ability to develop a ‘scientific enquiry’ way of looking at things. They will be taught to identify, observe, describe, compare and analyse. Our KS2 tutors will encourage your child to notice patterns, ask questions, and develop a solution focussed way of thinking. The upper end of KS2 requires your child to think in more abstract ways. This can be difficult for young brains. Our skilled tutors will tailor their teaching to encourage this more sophisticated way of thinking.
Primary school Science relies on teacher assessed grades rather than national testing. Our qualified KS2 tutors will design standard assessments that can be used to benchmark the progress of your child, using standardised scores.
GCSE Science Tutors
KS3: The strands of ‘scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding’ and ‘the nature, processes and methods of Science’ taught at primary school will continue throughout KS3. Your child will be taught the skills, knowledge and the application needed to prepare them for their GCSE Science exams at KS4. Our Science tutors will work with your child to help them to develop their skills through the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Although we no longer have KS3 SATs assessments, our specialist tutors will continually assess against KS4 benchmark criteria to help your child to be ahead of the game at KS4.
GCSE Physics tutors will work with your child to develop their understanding of energy; forces; motion; electricity; space and atomic structure. We have specialist physics and maths tutors who can focus on the mathematical concepts needed for physics.
GCSE Chemistry tutors will work with your child to build on their knowledge of atomic structure; bonding and properties of matter; chemical changes, reactions and analysis; earth and atmospheric science.
GCSE Biology tutors will work with your child to help develop their understanding of cell biology; health, disease and the development of medicines; photosynthesis; ecosystems; evolution, inheritance and variation.
A Level Tutors
The transition from GCSE Sciences to A level Sciences can be difficult for some students.
Our A level Physics tutors will work with their students to help them gain a deeper understanding of the concepts learned at GCSE and work with them to show how they can document their findings from the increased number of practical studies that will be undertaken, in a presentable way that draws on their scientific methodology. Our specialist Physics and Maths tutors will work on the increasingly more difficult mathematical concepts needed at A level.
The leap from GCSE to A level Chemistry is great. Our A level Chemistry tutors will help to bridge the two stages. The content for A Level is more difficult and there needs to be a far greater level of independent study.
There is a lot of content for A level Biology. This is the discipline where the biggest leap is taken. The concepts are more difficult and the thinking involved needs to be much more in depth. Our A level Biology tutors are experts in their field and can give the extra support that is needed to bridge the gap between GCSE and A level.
Many A Level students prefer to study online. We have online Chemistry tutors, online Physics tutors and online Biology tutors who will use a state of the art online classroom to ensure engagement, interaction and success.
Undergraduate Tutors
We have PHD tutors for all three disciplines. Their experience of previously tutoring undergraduates makes them the perfect choice to help you to achieve your first class degree.
